| This is what Marlie writes about the plant: "The plant is a Pelargonium graveolens, and they are very easy to cut off and make new plants by putting it in water. I got my first piece of cut off plant from a friend when I was studying in Maastricht. This is the biggest/first/oldest plant I have of this type so far, and it's now maybe 5 years old. I think it has 9 siblings all together. This plant moved with me to Paris and later to Berlin where I cut of the piece and grew it for the plant that travelled from Berlin to Iceland and to Copenhagen." We were contacted by a girl in Berlin, Marlie Mul that had heard of our project, she liked it a lot and wanted to give us one of her plants. This was in November 2006. A couple of weeks later we got a mail about her and some art colleagues going to drive a car from Berlin to a festival in Island. On the way back they were going to drive through Copenhagen, so the plant got to go to Island and down here again in the car's front window. When it became too cold it got these homemade aluminium reflectors around it to keep warm. In Copenhagen it stayed for a while at this Norwegian guy's place but when he moved back to Norway we got it. We have had the plant since christmas 2006, it has grown a lot and is happy. |
