| Tessa says: "This plant was handed over to me at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in august 2004. It was during a class demonstrating how important it is with the presence of plants in our everyday lives. They told us it was proven that a plant in your office will make you happier and healthier. I took a piece of it and planted it in a little pot in my apartment in Oslo. There it gradually grew bigger, especially in the summers after repotting. It turned out to grow very fast as long as it has enough space. Where it now stands in my livingroom it looks like a huge green wig. In the summers it gets small white flowers. Apparently that is a sign that it needs repotting, so if that is right you need a very big pot in the end. Unfourtunately I tried to track up its previous history without luck. The teatcher that gave it to me 3 years ago couldn't remember which plant she took this cutting from, maybe because she is surrounded with too many plants..." Care: The plant has been repotted every spring. As mentioned before it grows really fast. As every plant it likes sunlight, but it can handle it quite dark. It drinks a lot of water and don't need to dry out though it can handle that too. Fertilize it in the summer every second week and take away the leaves that dies beneath the others. |
