Hibiscus
Cut September 2006
3rd
Sara Ossi Anderson, Copenhagen DENMARK
Saras mother Lone writes:
"I nicked a cutting from my friend Kjerstin in the fall of 1982. It became a little tree and that is the tree you can see has a stem. The little tree is therefore 24 years old. It has always been placed in a window facing south, it has been repotted 5 times and always cut after blossoming. The other plant with the big leaves is about 4 years old and is yet to blossom. Saras tree is a cutting from the little tree and is about ten years old I think."

Sara writes:
"This plants history started in a little town called Järna, situated 50 km south of Stockholm.
It has many sibblings and is much adored. It moved away from home when it was about 3 years old, together with me. Since then it has moved three times and seems to be ok with it. First we moved to Odengatan, where I lived in a really nice and big flat on the top floor, like a real princess. Then I got in to Denmarks Designschool and both my boyfriend Petter and the plant came with me to Copenhagen. The three of us first lived in a funkis flat in Charlottenlund before we found our own apartment at Nørrebro. There we lived for three years. The plant and I moved out in january 2006 and is right now taken care of by a friend of the mine. It seems to be happy, blossoming like ever before. For some reason it likes to be looked after, maybe because it then gets extra spoiled." A fourth generation cutting from this tree is now for sale at the Vintage Plant market.
