06-2006 Birgitta´s Plant
Dieffenbachia
Cut September 2006
3rd
Birgitta Weström, Malmö, Sweden
Since Birgitta is 93 years old and doesn't remember that well anymore, her son Jan Erik helped us to fill in his side of the story. Jan Erik and his wife Britt bought the plant for their first home in Borås 1958. It soon grew big and Jan Erik used to cut the stem into pieces, put them in sand and give away to friends and family. He gave one of these offsprings to his mother Birgitta in the 60's. It moved with Birgitta and Erik to Stockholm in 1965 and to Malmö in 1973. It has been standing in its spot in Birgitta's livingroom now for almost 40 years. The plant was recently cut down by Jan Erik when he was visiting and one of these cuts are now for sale on the vintage Plant marked. The original plant probably still lives in Oslo with Britt.
