When garden-enthusiast Bosse Widegren moved from Stockholm to the countryside of Österlen, Skåne in 2004 he´s been completely replanting the garden of his new home and filling it with hundreds of different plants. He heard of the rose-association Österlenrosor, a regional organization that makes an inventory of old, locally cultured roses. Bosse decided to take a class at Roskraft (Rosepower) to learn how to cut and breed these treasures properly. He bought a a rose plant called Kersti´s Rose and planted it in his garden after making some new cuttings from it. He then donated two cuttings to the Vintage Plant market where they are put for sale.
Kersti´s Rose is named after the woman who owned the farm Persdala in the 1870s where the plant is originally taken from. Two rose bushes had survived from the old garden and the cuttings for sale on the VP market are ancestors to these plants.
